Guardianship Services

SCARC Guardianship Services, Inc. offers guardianship assistance to adults with developmental disabilities who need a readily available guardian to act on their behalf. The organization serves as the sole guardian, co-guardian, or personal advocate for the individual.

We have established many successor guardianship relationships with family members. Parents express the tremendous relief and peace of mind they gain when they have successfully planned for the organization to serve as the successor guardian for their child when planning for that time that they can no longer be the guardian of their loved one due to their own incapacity or death. SCARC Guardianship Services, Inc. makes a lifelong commitment to the people for whom we serve as their guardian and a promise to the families who have entrusted us with this important role.

Our caseworkers are certified as registered guardians by the National Guardianship Foundation and develop long-term relationships that empower each individual. We get to know each person’s social, psychological, and medical histories to ensure the best care and decisions for each individual and to make them a part of our family, advocating for them as necessary.

Our relationships are based on trust, loyalty and respect, ensuring that your loved one’s best interests are always at hand. From interdisciplinary team (IDT) and individual habilitation plan (IHP) meetings to doctors' visits, we are there every step of the way to make sure that each individual is receiving the best care possible.

SCARC Guardianship Services, Inc. makes sure that each individual’s case has a series of checks and balances. Caseworkers report to the CEO of the organization, who in turn reports to the SCARC Guardianship Services, Inc. Board of Trustees to make sure that decisions are based on a working and knowledgeable relationship with each individual.

Whether SCARC Guardianship Services, Inc. is the sole guardian or co-guardian with a family member, we give the same attention to detail to each and every individual, enabling a lifetime of respect and opportunities for individuals with developmental disabilities.
